About us – Pavol Hanzel
VERTIGO Miniatures? What is it?
My father introduced me to model making.
He is no longer here today, but when I close my eyes, I can smell the paper from ABC magazine.
On the table, glue, scissors, a bit of patience and a childish “what if”.
Somewhere there, my passion for the scale world was born.
After the Gentle Revolution, I read an article about Revell – and I understood that model making is not just a hobby.
It is a combination of technology, aesthetics and patience.
That’s when the dream was born:
“One day I will have a brand that will make things for model makers.
Things that have a soul.”

Beginnings
Year 2011. First figure, first forms, first mistakes.
VERTIGO Miniatures is born, a name I borrowed from the U2 song – Vertigo.
There was more energy than experience, but that is part of the beginning.
I started with figures, then busts, tools, accessories, stands were added…
It was always about one thing – improving the world of modeling by a few millimeters.
The joy of detail that will last.
“Over the years, I have met people who have pushed me forward, as well as those who have taught me harder lessons.
Not every collaboration is based on the same values.
There are times when you find that others see your idea differently than you thought.
And some only see in it what they would like to have from it.”
“That’s when I realized how important it is to stand behind your work — even if it’s not easy.
Not to defend yourself.
Not to push explanations on those who never cared for them.
Instead, to return to what is solid:
to creation, to honest work with your hands, and to your own path.”
“Maybe there have been many things said about it over the years.
But time has a special talent for separating words from truth.
And I believe that things that have a solid foundation will take care of themselves.”
Breakthrough and Return
The years 2024-2025 were different.
Fatigue, doubts, the question: “Does it still make sense?”
I considered ending it.
But when I looked at everything that had been created over the years,
I understood that VERTIGO is not a brand.
It is a piece of my life.
And the child you raise is not abandoned.
I decided to return – not as a salesperson, but as an author.
Less production. More creation. Less industry. More enthusiasm.
